Cyber Security Principal Research Engineer

As a Principal Research Engineer, you will be engaged in R&D of cutting-edge Computer Network Operations (CNO) technologies to meet mission-critical needs. Primary emphasis is on solving hard problem, prototyping developing, and analyzing components and end-to-end systems for Cyber Security and Cyber Warfare at the embedded-system, mobile, host, network, and enterprise levels. Often without source code or documentation, you will perform system analysis, reverse engineering and static, dynamic, and concolic analysis on Windows, Android, or UNIX-based platforms.

You will have the opportunity to play a critical lead role in developing and analyzing Computer Network Operations (CNO), Computer Network Defense (CND), Computer Network Exploitation (CNE), and Computer Network Attack (CNA) solutions as part of a high performance multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will participate in formal customer presentations and proposals as a technical subject matter expert. You may lead R&D efforts or development teams within larger projects.

Required Skills

• Demonstrate deep understanding of: Windows internal C/C++ and either UNIX/Linux or mobile (Android) platform skills
• Should also have strong capabilities in at least three of the following:
  • Operating systems internals (i.e. OS primitives & Application Binary Interface)
  • Reverse engineering, vulnerability analysis, exploit development, and related disciplines
  • Deep Network Protocols Analysis
  • Device drivers
  • Embedded Systems Analysis (i.e. analysis of a device of unknown origin)
  • Binary Analysis of “unknown” origin or type (e.g. Malware/Exploit analysis)
  • Virtual Machines and Hypervisor Technologies
  • Kernel/Userland mode debugger technologies
• Tools such as WinDbg/Wireshark/IDA-Pro/OllyDbg/Immunity/Python

Education Level

Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical

Engineering or a related field is preferred, but exceptional candidates will be considered regardless of degree status.

Clearance Level

Secret, must be clearable to TS/SCI
