Director, Capture Management

Our client is a well-respected company seeking a Senior Capture Manager to be responsible for developing and expanding business outside of our current programs. In addition to determining viable business to pursue, individual will lead teams (technical and managerial) throughout the capture process and into the proposal phase. Successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in leading the capture of $100M+ unity prime contracts for IT services and solutions in an SE&I environment. It is desired that a candidate have captured efforts larger than $50M related to one or more of the following areas: IT Services, Data Centers Services, and/or Cyber Security.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities include:

General Position Description: The successful candidate will bring a variety of advanced skills and experience in business development, capture management, and proposal development. Must have demonstrated skills in forming teams using key relationships in the government and industry. Must have proven success in winning contracts over $100M. Must have demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Identifies and is assigned opportunities the company will pursue; oversees the opportunities from lead qualification to proposal development including bid strategies, pricing, teaming, competitive intelligence/analysis, client relations, and technical solution; participates in events such as trade shows, seminars, industry days, and vendor open houses to support capture objectives; and must use knowledge of and experience with customers outside of the intelligence community to make determinations on viable business to pursue.

  • Provides the Business Development team with weekly updates on each assigned opportunity through a set series of capture reports
  • Identifies opportunities with new customers, develops and expands current business lines
  • Works closely with assigned Business Units (BU)

Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties: 

  • Must have knowledge of and experience with the Intelligence Community and/or Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, DISA, and other potential customers
  • Must be able to evaluate numerous strategies and provide guidance to increase our company’s win probability
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the Shipley process (or similar)
  • Must be able to actively engage senior government officials and determine needs
  • Must be a problem solver
  • Must be proactive and resourceful
  • Handles pressure well

  • Flexible and doesn’t require structured environment to be successful

Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:

Must have Bachelor’s Degree with over 10 years of relevant business development and sales work experience

Security Clearance Required:

TS SCI required
